"There are those who pursue [painting] because of poverty and domestic need, for profit and enthusiasm for the profession too; but above all these are to be extolled the ones who enter the profession through a sense of enthusiasm and exaltation"
............Cennino Cennini, Il Libro dell' Arte, 1437

    The Gallery
Lady Audrey's Gallery opened its doors on Saturday, May 16, 2009, in historic Railroad Square, 413 Sharon Goshen Turnpike (Route 128 off Route 7), just over the Covered Bridge in West Cornwall, Connecticut.  We are open Thursdays through Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and always by appointment.

The opening exhibit, a De Wolfe Hotchkiss Retrospective, continues through June at the gallery.
Mr. Hotchkiss spent most of his long career in the advertising field as an art director at BBD&O in New York City.  He was also very involved with the local art scene and was president of the Housatonic Art League for many years.  His artistic legacy lives on in three of his four sons who are accomplished artists in their own right.  Joel Hotchkiss is a well known creator of fine art mobiles, Ben Hotchkiss produces fantastical outsider art, and Jed Hotchkiss is an artist/illustrator focusing on the comic book genre.   Examples of their work are being featured in this exhibit.
